Benjamin J was born in 1861 at Foleshill, Coventry, Warwickshire. On 2 April 1871 he lived with his parents at Cromwell Street, St Michael, Coventry; his occupation was School. On 3 April 1881 he lived with his parents at Cromwell Street, St Michael, Coventry; his occupation was Baker & Grocer.

On 31 March 1901 he lived and worked at 371 Stoney Stanton Road, Holy Trinity, Coventry, Warwickshire; his occupation was a Baker.
